Information for pub customers

The purchaser should be provided with sufficient information to make an 'informed' choice. Research indicates that customers show a preferance for glass when drinking at bars and pubs. In general, consumers are responsible and treat the drinking vessels with respect, however the odd few cause problems. Therefore we have to recognise the duty of care that the individual publican has in assessing and understanding the likely behavior pattern of a venue's normal regular clientele. Pub staff have a duty to step in if a client is rowdy or unruly.

It is important that the supplier of drinking vessels gives appropriate guidance to the user as to vessel type suitable for their circumstance/venue. Obviously as a pub customer you will not know much about the supply chain - so please drink safe and be aware of your surroundings.
